I decided to change the post because some people pointed out that it is pretty difficult to pick just one favorite movie. So…

If you were stuck on a deserted island with five movies, what movies would they be?

Seriously! Wow people need to get out more. To the cinema that is.

Just for starters:

A Bou Be Souffle – Jean-Luc Godard

Tokyo Story – Yasujiro Ozu

The Big Lebowski – Joel Coen

Withnail and I – Bruce Robinson

The Good the Bad and the Ugly – Sergio Leone

400 Blows – François Truffaut

Citizen Kane – Orson Welles

The Philadelphia Story – George Cukor

North by Northwest – Alfred Hitchcock

Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind – Hayao Miyazaki

Brief Encounters – David Lean

The Searchers – John Ford

All About Lilly Chou-Chou – Shunji Iwai

Pulp Fiction – Quentin Tarentino

Blue Velvet – David Lynch

Easy Rider – Dennis Hopper

The Godfather – Francis Ford Coppola

Manhattan – Woody Allen

Oldboy – Park Chan-wook

Sunset Boulevard – Billy Wilder

Come And See – Elem Klimov

The Graduate – Mike Nichols

His Girl Friday – Howard Hawks

This Is Spinal Tap – Rob Reiner

Alien – Ridley Scot

Seven Samurai – Akira Kurosawa

The Third Man – Carol Reed

Casablanca – Michael Curtiz

Taxi Driver – Martin Scorsese

Chinatown – Roman Polanski

The Apartment – Billy Wilder

Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb _ Stanley Kubrick

I’m out of breath, that is just the start! I’ve tried to limit myself to a single film per director, but with people like Akira Kurosawa you have to watch everything he made!

I have horribly cliche/mainstream taste in movies. It’s a little bad… but:

- Thirteen
- Mean Girls
- 500 Days of Summer
- Avatar
- and I don’t know. I rarely watch movies!
